Ron Duke Carpenter Memorial Scholarship
The intent of this scholarship is to provide support to graduate students in the Master of Social Work program. Ron Carpenter earned his bachelor’s degree in 1977 and his Master of Social Work degree in 1982 from Indiana State University. He spent his career in non-profit management, serving in several leadership roles at Indiana State University, including President of the Indiana State University Foundation, Chair of the Board of Trustees, and Chair of the Alumni Association. Ron was a former co-captain for the Sycamore football team and received the Distinguished Alumni Award in 1998. Ron’s widow, Julie Carpenter, is establishing this scholarship to honor Ron’s legacy in the field of social work, where he earned his Master’s degree.
Recipient must be a graduate student enrolled in the Master of Social Work program; recipient must be a United States citizen; recipient must have earned at least a 3.25 undergraduate GPA; preference to students who demonstrate financial need; preference to first-generation college students; preference to students who were student-athletes during their undergraduate studies
