James and Pamela Poore First-Gen College Scholarship

The intent of this scholarship is to support students from public schools within the city of Indianapolis attending Indiana State University. The donors have made their home and business in Indianapolis and understand the importance of providing scholarship support to deserving students that need a “hand up.” The scholarship will give preference to first-generation college students who demonstrate financial need but are not receiving federal or state grant assistance.

Recipients must be graduates from a school in the Indianapolis Public School District (IPS) or any public township school within the city of Indianapolis; must be incoming freshmen or undergraduate transfer students; must be first-generation students; must demonstrate financial need, with preference given to students who are not receiving federal or state grant assistance
