Fannie Blumberg Scholarship for Special Education
The Blumberg Scholarship Award provides assistance and opportunity to a talented incoming freshman student interested in pursuing a career in special education or communication disorders at Indiana State University.
To be eligible, students must have a minimum 22 ACT (composite score) or a 1000 SAT (combined Critical Reading and Mathematics) or 1070 SAT (Evidence-Based Reading and Writing and Math) and/or a high school ranking in the upper 10% of their graduating class.
If the recipient maintains a 3.5 grade point average, the scholarship can renew for $1,500.00 for three additional years. The recipient also gains valuable experience by participating in Blumberg Center activities during their enrollment at Indiana State University. The number of hours and types of experiences will be discussed between the scholarship recipient and the Blumberg Center director.
Scholarship selection is based on the following criteria: previous work/volunteer experiences, letters of recommendation, current high school transcript, class rank, GPA, and SAT/ACT scores.

These references can be from anyone familiar with your leadership successes and accomplishments, including high school teachers, guidance counselors, or employers. Recommendations from family members will not be accepted. MAKE SURE to ask your reference if they can write a letter for you ahead of time and tell them that they will receive an email from us requesting it. Also tell them what the scholarship application deadline is.
