Jerry and Jan Cockrell Experiential Learning Endowment

The intent of this fund is to support first-generation, non-traditional students at Indiana State University, enrolled in the Bailey College of Engineering and Technology or the College of Health and Human Services, and assist them with experiential learning opportunities. This endowment shall provide support to students pursuing experiential learning programs (e.g. internships, externships, summer or semester research programs, etc.), or professional memberships which allow students to gain work and practical experience in the laboratory, field, archives, etc., and that provide hands-on learning opportunities and outcomes designed to increase career readiness.

A recipient must be in academic good standing; must be enrolled in BCET or CHHS; preference to first-generation students; first preference to a United States military veteran who is a student transferring from a two-year educational institution; should a veteran transfer student not be selected, second preference to a United States military veteran; should a veteran not be selected, third preference to a student transferring from a two-year institution; recipients must use the award to fund experiential learning opportunities; must be sophomore, junior, or senior in the year of the award; not automatically renewable but recipients may reapply to receive in subsequent years; financial need shall be considered.
