Rich and Robin Porter Endowed Master's in Nursing Scholarship

This scholarship is established to assist graduate-level nursing students complete their degree. Rich and Robin, the donors, have a passion for supporting the nursing profession, as their daughter Michelle and son-in-law Max are both APRN-CNPs in the James Cancer Center at Ohio State University. Rich has had a successful career in business, but his philanthropy has been centered on healthcare support. Rich explains that in business, you can have a bad day, take a break, and step away for a while, but as a nurse, that is never an option. Patient care does not take breaks or allow for mistakes. Supporting these essential professionals is now more critical than ever to the donors.

The recipient must be a master’s-level student majoring in Nursing; must be in good academic standing; may be an on-campus or online student; awarded annually and not automatically renewable, but students may reapply if they continue to meet criteria.
