Jeanette and Emory Benson Endowed Scholarship

The intent of this scholarship is to provide support for students who are graduates of North Central High School in Sullivan County, IN, enrolled at Indiana State University, and who are in need of financial assistance. This scholarship is established in memory of Jeanette Gaskins Benson and Emory Benson, who were residents of Farmersburg, Indiana and shared a connection, along with their children, with North Central High School and Indiana State University. It is the desire of the donor and her family to preserve the legacy and memory of her parents for future generations of NCHS students.

Recipient must be a graduate of North Central High School in Sullivan County, IN; first preference to incoming freshmen; second preference to all other class standings; if no students enrolled who are North Central High School graduates, third preference to graduates of Sullivan High School in Sullivan County, IN; if no Sullivan High School graduates, fourth preference to any other ISU student who meets criteria; must demonstrate financial need; preference to students enrolled in BCOE, SCOB, or BCET; students of 1st or 2nd high school class rank should not be considered; not automatically renewable but may reapply.
