Dr. Susan M. Latta, Ph.D.

This scholarship is to be awarded to a student in good standing who is studying English as a major in the College of Arts and Sciences, has a 3.5 or above cumulative GPA, and who, according to the faculty committee selecting the recipient, demonstrated qualities similar to those of a Hazel Tesh Pfenning Scholar. This scholarship is to be a one year scholarship. The recipient is eligible to re-apply for the scholarship.

It is the Donor’s intention that this scholarship be available to any English student from freshman to senior as long as it is used only toward tuition and other required fees at ISU; an application process be used that includes written recommendations from the applicant’s English professors or high school English teachers; and preference could be given to applicants with financial need.

Applicants must submit:

1. A letter of recommendation from an ISU Dept. of English faculty member, and
2. A personal statement responding to the prompt below.
