Rural Health Scholarship

Indiana State University and Indiana University School of Medicine have developed a unique opportunity for students from rural Indiana and Illinois. The Rural Health Program offers students an opportunity to earn a baccalaureate degree with pending admission to medical school (Indiana University School of Medicine — Terre Haute on the campus of Indiana State University) following completion of undergraduate studies and all program requirements. The program is specifically designed to prepare students from rural Indiana and Illinois to return to their hometowns or similar towns as primary care physicians. To be considered you must have lived a substantial portion of your life in a federally designated area that is not metropolitan or is designated as a rural census tract.

  5. Please provide the names and email addresses of three (3) individuals who can recommend you for the Rural Health Scholarship. The references should come from 1. a science faculty member, 2. a non-science ISU faculty member or High School teacher, and 3. an adult (not a relative). Recommendations from family members will not be accepted. MAKE SURE to ask your reference if they can write a letter for you ahead of time and tell them that they will receive an email from The Branch requesting it. Also tell them what the scholarship application deadline is.
