Linda Eldred Distinguished Service Award

(1) Recipient(s) must have served a minimum of two years on the Union Board, (2) Recipient(s) shall be students who have excelled in Union Board leadership and/or programming experience especially during the year of the award’s presentation.

This award celebrates the legacy of Linda Eldred and the positive impact she had on Indiana State University during her 40 years of service to our campus and students. Linda’s leadership and involvement in many campus activities and programs included the Union Board, Sycamore Trike Derby, sorority life, Spring Week, and Homecoming, just to name a few. She was the co-founder and advisor of Tandem, a tradition that continues to be a favorite among students today, and co-founder of the prestigious student group, the Blue Berets. She believed in the value of identifying, engaging, and developing student leaaders in collegiate and community life through participation in student organizations and activities. Linda received the Distinguished Alumni Award in 2016. The purpose of this scholarship is to provide financial support to students actively participating on the ISU Union Board who have excelled in leadership and/or programming experience during their service.
