John Charles Geekie Memorial Scholarship

The John Charles Geekie Memorial Scholarship was established by Mr. and Mrs. Charles & Mary Geekie and other family members and friends to honor the memory of their son John.

Johnnie was a 1988 graduate of Paris High School where he was an Honor Roll student, member of the National Honor Society, and excelled as a member of the golf team. During the summer, John was a lifeguard at the city beach. He was an accomplished water skier and loved all sports.

John had completed his freshman year at Indiana State University as a pre-law major. He was a recipient of an Indiana State Academic Scholarship and a First United Methodist Church Board of Trustees Scholarship.

Recipient must be a graduate of Chrisman or Paris High School with a cumulative high school GPA of at least 3.5 and must be enrolled full time at Indiana State University. Recipient selected based on criteria and on the recommendations of the scholarship committee.
