Dr. Marvin Henry Legacy Scholarship

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to an Indiana State University graduate student(s) in good standing with the preference given to those enrolled in Elementary Education, Secondary Education, or Curriculum and Instruction within the Bayh College of Education.

Eligible applicants must submit 1) A letter of interest that demonstrates their passion in teacher education and 2) A one-page rationale detailing the impact on your growth within the profession through one or more of the following development opportunities.
 Demonstrated leadership in teacher education, preferably in the area of field experiences and the potential to expand the profession
 A proposal for presentation on teacher education at a state, regional, or national conference
• Ex. Preparation of school supervisors to mentor student teachers
• Ex. Meeting the shortage of teachers in your area
 Develop an actual or proposed program designed to improve teacher intern supervision or professional involvement that has been appropriately vetted
 Writing which shows “cutting edge” thought on teacher education that has been submitted for publishing in a journal
 Participation in professional leadership as a participant in governance of a professional organization in teacher education
 Recognition as an excellent teacher as evaluated by criteria used to evaluate teachers with description of the evaluation process
