Sandy Senior-Dauer and Keith Dauer Department of History Semester-Long Study Abroad Scholarship

The intent of the Donors is to provide students pursuing a major or minor in the Department of History or African and African American Studies or a Social Studies Education degree with financial resources to enhance their academic and cultural learning at Indiana State University through travel experiences, particularly through semester-long study abroad. (Support for short-term faculty-led trip abroad, faculty-led domestic travel study-trip, or other short-term study abroad experiences is also possible by applying directly to the Department of History; contact the Chairperson for details.)

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to Indiana State University students who meet the following criteria:
- Must be pursuing a major or minor in the Department of History or Social Studies Education
- Must be a sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate student in the academic year in which the scholarship will be applied
- Must be participating in a traditional semester-long study abroad program.
- This scholarship is awarded on an annual basis and is not automatically renewable, however, eligible students may apply each academic year.
- Recipients will complete a written letter of appreciation to the Donors, which will serve as their official acceptance of the scholarship.

    • Provide a list of other scholarships that you currently receive.
    • Provide a list of student activities or campus groups in which you actively participate.
    • Submit a 500 word essay describing your goals for the experience and describing how the trip will benefit you personally, academically, and professionally.
  3. Please provide the destination and dates for the proposed travel experience.
